How Georgia Continues to Dominate the FinTech Industry – Larry Williams, President & CEO of TAG

The Atlanta Small Business Network was recently on-location at the 2019 Fintech South Conference where we caught up with Larry Williams, President, and CEO of TAG (Technology Association of Georgia).

According to Larry, FinTech is to Georgia as investment banking is to New York. It’s all about the innovative technology that processes transactional payments. 70 percent of purchases made with a debit, credit, or rewards card, are processed through Georgia, so it’s no secret as to why a conference of this scale needs a big stage at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the heart of downtown Atlanta.

With over 1,500 attendees and dozens of presentations and showcases, FinTech South celebrates what is big in FinTech today, and where the industry is headed tomorrow. One of Georgia’s home-grown FinTech startups in bitpay, where 80 percent of all commercial cryptocurrency are processed. Georgia has continued to be a leader in this industry due to its rich history in FinTech.
