How to Combat Racism in Your Workplace – Dr. Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic

On today’s episode of The Atlanta Small Business Show we welcome psychologist, author and entrepreneur, Dr. Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic. Dr. Tomas has written 10 books including his latest, Why do so many incompetent men become leaders? and The Talent Delusion: Why Data, Not Intuition, Is the Key to Unlocking Human Potential and over 150 scientific papers on the psychology of talent, leadership, innovation, and AI. He is currently the Chief Talent Scientist at Manpower Group, co-founder of Deeper Signals and Metaprofiling, and Professor of Business Psychology at University College London and Columbia University.

Dr. Tomas joins ASBN today to talk about an article he wrote that was recently published on HBR.com titled, How To Combat Racism At Work: No human environment will ever be prejudice-free, but humane organizations can do a great deal to reduce workplace discrimination, including racism.

To get a better understanding of the topic at hand, we asked Dr. Tomas to clarify how prejudice developed, the difference between prejudice and racism, where stereotypes are formed, why we bring prejudice into the workplace, and dive into its effects on a business and the public’s perception of that business.

Tune-in to hear more on this subject from Dr. Tomas and please let us know your comments in the section below.
