Break through your subconscious mind’s limiting beliefs – Jake Kauffman | Jacob Kauffman Coaching & Consulting

The subconscious mind and innate belief systems dictate an individual’s behavior and actions. When these internal belief systems misalign with personal or professional goals, individuals often find themselves trapped in a cycle of self-sabotage. In today’s episode of The Roadmap, Jake Kauffman, life coach and CEO of Jacob Kauffman Coaching & Consulting, explains how to break this cycle and attract more abundance and opportunities into one’s life.

Kauffman’s journey into entrepreneurship began in the healthcare technology space, where his business grew rapidly. However, as the company expanded, so did underlying interpersonal challenges, ultimately preventing the company from reaching its full potential. This realization led him to an important insight: most business challenges are, at their core, personal challenges that manifest in the workplace.

Recognizing this, Kauffman turned his focus to business coaching. He found that as he invested time in self-improvement, every aspect of his life—including his business—began to thrive. Now, he helps clients uncover the subconscious mind’s barriers that limit their behaviors and actions.

Kauffman highlights Gay Hendrick’s concept of the subconscious “upper limit“—a threshold at which individuals feel safe receiving money, success, and opportunity. When a person exceeds this internal limit, their subconscious registers it as a threat, triggering self-sabotage as a defense mechanism. To move beyond this upper limit, Kauffman advises business owners to optimize for their subconscious mind.

Since the subconscious dictates 90–95% of behavior, misalignment between personal beliefs and goals leads to inconsistency in actions and decisions. In fact, 90% of people fail to accomplish their New Year’s resolutions because they attempt to build success on a faulty foundation—one that lacks the belief system or identity needed to sustain progress.

Kauffman’s solution is for individuals to shift or elevate their identity, allowing their actions and decisions to align with their higher self. He emphasizes that everyone has a core fear and a core motivation shaped by their personality. By uncovering and confronting these deeply ingrained patterns, individuals can regain control of their subconscious and break free from limiting behaviors.

A key way to facilitate this transformation is by stepping outside of daily routines and exposing oneself to new environments, beliefs, and perspectives. In his book, Let Love In: The Pains Stops When the Truth Starts, Kauffman shares his personal journey and provides a roadmap for those looking to grow and attract more love, abundance, and opportunities into their lives.

Ultimately, success is 80% psychology and emotion, and only 20% strategy. While a tangible action plan is essential for achieving goals, the true foundation of lasting success lies in the beliefs and decisions that shape our actions.

"A conscious mind is what a person knows. The unconscious mind is who they are, and is responsible for what they do, their actions, and their decisions." – Jake Kauffman
