Once again, Beyonce’s BeyGOOD foundation is supporting small businesses impacted by economic inequalities. The Houston native introduced the Black Parade Routes to assist 900 Black-owned small companies across the globe that were touched by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
During her upcoming Renaissance World Tour, Beyonce will support students and entrepreneurs by donating $2 million. As the tour kicks off in May and goes until September, the BeyGOOD Foundation will host luncheons in cities along the tour schedule. Entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to receive grants worth $1 million, specifically intended for small firms.
Since the BeyGOOD initiative was established in 2013, it has engaged in several domestic and international charitable activities, including helping communities affected by natural disasters, advancing education, and supporting initiatives dealing with problems like homelessness and mental health. Additionally, it has given subsidies to smaller Black-owned enterprises, which has been a priority ever since the pandemic began.
According to the executive director of the BeyGOOD Foundation, Ivy McGregor, Beyoncé “identified that small businesses are essential…She gave grants to over 900 small businesses of over $10,000 and then elevated them socially because these were businesses that intended to stay open, to keep the grocery stores open, and to help those communities.”
Qualifying applicants can apply for the $10,000 grant here.
In addition, Beyoncé is committing $1 million towards:
- 10+ cities around the globe: Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, London, and two additional international cities yet to be named.
- 100 Black entrepreneurs will be selected in each city to attend the Black Parade Route luncheons.
- Grant possibilities and business sustainability support services are available to 1,000 small enterprises.
- $100,000 worth of grants will be given to each city for small business relief.
