The economy today is truly a global one. Studies have shown that consumer markets outside the United States will grow far faster than consumer markets within our borders. In fact, according to the 2018 Georgia Global Trade Summary, 2018 delivered the highest value of Georgia exports on record, reflecting the importance of trade to the state’s competitiveness. Exports exceeded $40.6 billion, a 9 percent increase over 2017, and Georgia reclaimed its rank as the 11th largest exporting state in the nation.
