This Local Subscription Start-Up Encourages Black Children to Explore STE(A)M Related Careers

On today’s episode of The Atlanta Small Business Show we welcome Terri-Nichelle Bradley. Terri is Founder & CEO of Brown Toy Box, a STE(A)M equity advocate, and Principle at Playground Public Relations.

Brown Toy Box creates and delivers culturally affirming products and experiences that celebrate Black children ages 4-12. Through culturally representative books, activities and toys Brown Toy Box works to expose, excite, and encourage children to explore and consider STE(A)M related careers and hobbies.

Their mission is to inspire Black children to pursue careers and hobbies where Black people are typically underrepresented but that could provide greater economic mobility for them as adults.

In this segment, Jim and Terri discuss her entrepreneurial background, how she came up with the idea for Brown Toy Box, how the service works, funding, help she received upon start-up, how her experience and past positions prepared her to launch this new endeavor, and why she is so passionate about helping other entrepreneurs.

Tune-in to hear more from Terri-Nichelle and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
