On this week’s episode of the Atlanta Small Business Profile, our host, Ted Jenkin, caught up with Jamie Bodner, fitness design expert, and owner of Pinnacle Fitness.
Born and raised in New York, Jamie was working at the World Trade Center during the time of the 9/11 attack, however, he just so happened to not be at work that day. He says this gave him a feeling of a second chance, and this is when he asked himself what he really wanted to do with his life. He stopped what he was doing and he moved down to Southern Florida around the age of 24. It’s also around this time that he discovered his love for fitness. He began to think about how he could combine his love for fitness and his love for helping people into a career.

Jamie said this was very helpful when it finally came down to him opening a gym of his own. He says this really helped him to get into the fitness world and see how things worked from the inside. Additionally, working for a large gym helped Jamie to determine what he wanted to emphasize in his own business, such as developing trust with customers who have value in what they are doing and who are not just stuck in a membership contract.
