The 4 Pillars of the Invest Atlanta Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative

On today’s show, we’re pleased to welcome Monica Hooks, the new Executive Director of the Invest Atlanta Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative. Monica first became involved in the Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative as a participant, when her boutique marketing firm, m-oracle graduated as part of the program’s inaugural class. As of October, she is now the Executive Director of WEI, and shares with ASBN what the initiative is all about.

At its core, the Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative is an accelerator that helps women-owned businesses and startups grow and scale their operations. This is done by guiding the business owners through the strategic analysis of their business plans, target markets, and industry opportunities. They also work with founders on their leadership development, how to cultivate strategies partnerships, and where to seek appropriate funding.

Monica also discusses the unique social challenges and economic barriers that women entrepreneurs face and how the WEI addresses and provides solutions to those problems. To find out more, be sure to watch our entire conversation with Monica above.
