Our next guest, Dr. Felicia Phillips, is a master business strategist and Founder – CEO of Felicia Phillips Unlimited. Today, we discuss the importance of business mentorship for entrepreneurs.
Feclia grew up around entrepreneurs, especially in her family. She had a front row seat to the ups and downs that a lot of entrepreneurs experience throughout their journies. However, it didn’t deter her from pursuing a career as an entrepreneur. At 19 years old, Felicia started her first business selling durable medical equipment. After selling that business, she found success in the real estate industry which allowed her to ultimately pursue her career as a master business strategist. As Felicia puts it, she wanted to leave a legacy of success that’s not just about her, but about helping other people as well.
“We don’t know what we don’t know”, Felicia says. A business coach is not a consultant. They are advisers and mentors. They help you make the right choices for your business and reduce the learning curve that comes with being an entrepreneur. Utilize a business coach from the ground up before you create any bad habits or make irreparable mistakes.
Not everyone can afford hours and hours of time from a private business coach. Felicia knows this and is sensitive to the market. That is in part, why she create the Black Belt Business Academy. Only six percent of entrepreneurs make over $100K per year, and Felicia wanted to make sure that the needs of the other 94 percent were met. Black Belt Business Academy is a six-month program created for the modern day entrepreneur. The program includes online video materials, resources, and other tools that entrepreneurs need. You can also become a mentor to the next class, once you’ve completed the program.
