In Atlanta, the small business community has grown rapidly in recent years, which prompted the city to celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship with the Atlanta Main Street initiative. Here to talk more about Atlanta Main Street, is Josh Humphries, Assistant Director of Economic Development for the City of Atlanta, Kiyomi Rollins, Founder and CEO of The Good Hair Shop, and Nate Minor, Owner of ScreenFixing.com and President of the East Atlanta Business Association.
The Atlanta Main Street Network is part of the larger, decades-old, National Main Street Center, which aims to revitalize the country’s older and more historic commercial cities and districts. In partnership with Georgia Main Street Program, the Atlanta Main Street will bring together neighboorhood leaders from across the city to problem solve the economic challenges of each neighborhood, and learn more about the power of localized economies. This year, you can find participating Small Business Saturday events in Atlanta’s Sweet Auburn, Little 5 Points, EAV, Virginia Highland, West End, Westview neighborhoods.
