Bringing positive change to local communities requires room for innovative ideas to be voiced, the manpower to bring those ideas to life, and a mutual sense of trust between all parties involved. Here to shine a light on social entrepreneurship and community resolution is Founder and Executive Director of Atlanta’s Center for Civic Innovation, Rohit Malhotra.
Trust and participation between people and government leaders however, is currently at a historic low. In fact, studies have shown that the overall trust in government has significantly declined over the previous decades, which can contribute to an increase in city-wide issues and unresolved problems. With a strategic plan to invest in solutions to improve equality, Rohit believes the key opportunities to improve community, lay within the conditions in which they operate.
In this segment, Jim and Rohit discuss his extensive background in social entrepreneurship, the motivation behind launching the Center for Civic Innovation, as well as the challenges and rewards that come along with resolving issues in the public sector.
