ATDC at Georgia Tech: Everything You Need to Know – John Avery, Director

We recently traveled to the Georgia Institute of Technology campus, where we spoke with John Avery, the new Director for ATDC Georgia Tech, a start-up accelerator that helps Georgia technology entrepreneurs launch and build successful companies. John provided a detailed look at the initiatives, programs, and resources that ATDC offers.ATDC Georgia Tech

The ATDC, or Advanced Technology Development Center, is essentially the state of Georgia’s startup incubator. While they operate under the umbrella of Georgia Tech, their mandate is statewide. ATDC’s core purpose is to help raise entrepreneurial awareness across the state, and to facilitate the launch, scale, and success of entrepreneurs and startups.

John is responsible for overseeing all operations and facilities. In addition, he leads a team of 26 staff and advisers who run ATDC’s various initiatives, including its financial, health, and retail technology verticals. He and his team also support statewide activities like the ATDC program, coach technology entrepreneurs in Georgia, and connects them to a network of investors and resources.
