On today’s show, we’re pleased to welcome Fred McGill, CEO and co-founder of SimpleShowing, an Atlanta-based startup that is modernizing the traditional real estate process. SimpleShowing has managed to raise over one million dollars in capital through the crowdfunding platform, Republic, which we learn more about, in this segment.

SimpleShowingAfter working for a variety of different tech companies including SalesForce, Fred has the desire to start his own venture focused in the real estate market. It is Fred’s belief that the process in which homes are bought and sold, is philosophically broken. SimpleShowing was born out of showing that Fred had arranged for a friend. Turns out, that Fred’s friend made it a point to tell him that she actually didn’t need additional hand-holding when it came to home-buying. Turns out, there are a lot of people who feel the same way. In fact, by 2021, 40 percent of the millennial population will buy their home without the help of a real estate agent.

What sets SimpleShowing’s startup journey apart from others, is that is raised over $1 million off of the startup crowdfunding platform, Republic. Initially, SimpleShowing had a fundraising goal of $25,000. to date, they have raised $1,070,000 which is 4280 percent more than the original goal.
